On December 8, 2023 at 12pm, HIP Investigator, Dr. Yao Liu will present at the D&I Launchpad’s Dissemination Research and Implementation Science Seminar (DRISS). Her presentation titled, “Implementation of Teleophthalmology in Rural Health Systems (I-TRUST) Study: A Hybrid Type 2 Effectiveness and Implementation Multicenter Clinical Trial,” will provide an overview of the I-TRUST Study’s methods of expanding ocular telehealth to prevent blindness from diabetes. The research seeks to advance health equity in rural and urban underserved primary care clinics.

The study combines dissemination and implementation practices, mixed methods, implementation costing, and health equity research. Dr. Liu will discuss methods and frameworks, as well as her team’s experience transitioning from a K23-funded pilot study to a UG1-funded multicenter clinical trial with ancillary studies supported by NIH Diversity Supplements.
